An Indie Record Label Built from Scratch
In 2006-2007 my friends and I formed a small music and arts collective based around the idea of informal dinner parties held weekly in San Fracisco's Lower Haight neighborhood. In that time we released a few records, had a weekly pirate radio show, maintained a food blog called Feeding Fashionistas, and threw parties in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. In addition to event planning and various other roles, I was the art director and responsible for most of the visual promotional elements. Needless to say, attempting to launch a new label in a time when it was hard to say what format– if any– people were willing to buy was a bit of a challenge. It was a labor of love, but a damn fun one.Credits
